Uncertainty over Schmuck 2021 forces us to become proactive. It is highly possible that no weeks or fairs will take place before autumn 2021, as long as EU Covid-19 restrictions prevail.
Digital and online presentations are here to stay. They are cheaper, faster and audience integrative. They may catapult jewellery artists into the limelight adding up new audience to their followers and potential customers, challenging their talents, and offering new ways to promote their work. After countless Zoom meetings throughout last year, jewellery artists have to face the fact: many of the online events are tiring – they may even “kill” a project! Without a strong message, digital presentations have no future. Times demand changes. The secrets are: narrative and performance, moderation and a perfect stage for your work.
The inflation of events surrounding Schmuck did not necessarily counterbalance the lack of conceptual intensity or visual innovation – it did not attract customers either. Luxury goods and art marketing experts – such as Christie’s or Miu Miu – work with narrative, plot and intimacy to successfully address buyers. Intellectual and emotional added value should be included in the promotion of the magic jewellery can offer.
Having worked with curating, exhibition design, communication and media, video and performance for over two decades, we believe that only fresh formats and original content can appeal to the public and the experts.
“FLYING CIRCUS” (https://klimt02.net/events/open-calls/open-call-flying-circus-jewelry-exhibition-movie-project-zlr-betriebsimperium) is the art exhibition and movie project we present during Schmuck Munich 2021 both online and in one of Munich’s top ten galleries, regardless of whether the official show takes place or not. Videos created by selected jewellery artists are screened in Weltraum Gallery.
“FLYING CIRCUS // CAROUSEL” is the promotional part of our show.In the intervals, between the artists’ video presentations, the “Carousel” video advertorials are screened online and in Weltraum Gallery.
FLYING CIRCUS // CAROUSEL – DETAILS:
Artists, gallery owners, design schools and institutions, exhibition participants and curators of Schmuck 2021 shows are invited to join “CAROUSEL” and send us their personal video advertorial.
The advertorial videos will be screened at FLYING CIRCUS in Weltraum Gallery from 10-14 March during Schmuck Munich 2021. Videos will be shown via loop sequence in the gallery window.
Additionally, Carousel participants get advertisement space in SM*CK Magazine #3 „Schmuck Munich Special“ (www.smck.org).
SM*CK online digital and print magazine comes out in late February 2021 featuring interviews with KLIMT02, Ted Noten, Ruudt Peters, Lisbeth Den Besten, Gijs Bakker, Isabella Hund Gallery, Biró Gallery, Gallery Door and more.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Option 1* – ACROBAT (Fee: 50 euro)
You produce your personal video advertorial (max. 20 seconds). Your video will be screened at the Opening + Closing of FLYING CIRCUS online show (7 + 14 March 2021), and will be included in the Flying Circus video loop screened at Weltraum Gallery. We will send you all necessary information how to shoot your advertorial using your camera or cell phone.
Additionally, your personal advertisement (1/8 page) will be published in SM*CK Magazine #3 digital and print issue.
Option 2* – HORSE RIDING BALLERINA (Fee: 150 euro)
An individual online instruction course (60 minutes) will guide you how to write your script, how to produce and cut your personal video advertorial (max. 1.30 min) using your camera, computer or cell phone. Your video will be screened at the Opening + Closing of FLYING CIRCUS online show (7 + 14 March 2021), and will be included in the Flying Circus video loop screened at Weltraum Gallery.
Additionally, your personal advertisement (1/4 page) will be published in SM*CK Magazine #3 digital and print issue.
Option 3* – RING OF FIRE (Fee: 250 euro)
We will video interview you – including the presentation of your work, venue or collection – and assist you to shoot the video footage. We will cut and edit your video advertorial (max. 2.00 min), and publish it at the online Opening + Closing of FLYING CIRCUS online show (7 + 14 March 2021), and will be included in the Flying Circus video loop screened at Weltraum Gallery.
Additionally, your personal advertisement (1/2 page) will be published in SM*CK Magazine #3 digital and print issue.
* All videos will be posted in ZLR Betriebsimperium social networks (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blog) and relevant organizations of which ZLR Betriebsimperium is a member, such as Klimt02, Res Artis, Onassis Alumni Association etc.
