“They call me Nobody”: PRE-OPEN CALL: ATHENS/SEPT 2018 – HAMBURG/NOV 2018 – MUNICH/MARCH 2019

NobodyAfter the successful completion of our group show “Initiation 2018//Kallichoron”, we inform fans, followers and fellow artists that we will announce within the next few days
three (3) OPEN CALLs for a series of shows/events/Artist Residencies in Athens/ Hamburg/ Munich (2018-2019).

The OPEN CALLs address artists working in the field of jewellery/performance/ theater/fashion design/ as well as art historians/ art managers/ art curators.

Artists may choose to participate in one or more of the art projects we organize and curate between April 2018 – March 2019, namely:

1. “They call me Nobody”: An international “Jewellery Convention” (JC) between September/October 2018 in Athens, Greece. The JC includes a series of lectures focusing on issues never addressed in the art scene, such as funding/ law and management/ marketing/ communication/ networking, as well as workshops and curated shows in Athens, Greece.

2. “They call me Nobody”: A series of curated performances to be presented at Art Space 2025 – Hamburg’s reputable venue for innovative performing arts – on the following dates:

Friday 2 November or
Friday 9 November or
Friday 16 November or
Friday 23 November or
Friday 30 November.

The performance series shown in the above mentioned dates in the Art Space 2025, Hamburg/Germany follows an Artist in Residence (AIR)/Specialized Warkshops in Performance/Narrative/Drama) in Athens/Greece.
The AIR+Workshops in Athens will take place between April – October 2018.

3. “They call me Nobody”: Schmuckwoche München/Munich Jewellery Week 2019.
Our fifth (5) group show during Munich Jewellery Week 2019 will also follow an Artist in Residence (AIR)/Specialized Warkshops in Athens/Greece). The emphasis will be again on interdisciplinary art practice. The AIR+Workshops in Athens will take place between May 2018 – January 2019.

All projects are in cooperation with international institutional partners.

“They call me Nobody” refers to the answer Odysseus gave to the one eyed, man-eating monster Cyclop before blinding him.
Odysseus is the mythical king of Ithaca whose adventures Greek poet Homer described in his 8th century BC epos “The Odyssey”.

All projects are organized and curated by ZLR Betriebsimperium Hamburg.
